I don't think I have seen such a massive price drop in one console ever! Target is selling the Xbox 360 Pro Console with 3 free games for $339! The sale starts in 2 days, but I was able to get it price matched at EB today! As I say down below, you could instantly return the Simpsons game to another EB Games store for a refund of the full purchase price, meaning...the XBOX 360 60Gb Console could be purchased for an incredibly cheap, $269!
You'd think with the current state of the Aussie Dollar, they wouldn't be having this sharper of a price drop?

Well, thats an interesting point...looking at the Target catalogue, I doesn't actually say does it? Looking at it now, the hard drive is missing from the top, so one would assume that means that it would be the Arcade version. However, the Arcade version doesn't come with Kung Fu Panda or Indiana Jones... Here is a picture of the advertisement enlarged... http://target.dynamiccatalogue.com.au/imageicon/TRG/PROD/J00003440/C_001/PAGE_021/PAGE_021_OFFER_0007E7BE.JPGAll I did was go to the Target website and print off a copy of the product details (making sure that the website is printed on too, they're picky about that) and then took it to EB Games, and no questions asked, they matched the current Xbox 360 Pro console bundle price!! Also does anyone know if you could then return the simpsons to make it even cheaper?
I asked the same question...you can't return it instantaneously (apparently, their accounting system doesn't allow for that) but you could just go to any other EB Games and return it for a full refund! So yes! They are selling it for $70, so it would then make it...an INCREDIBLE $269! An Xbox 360 Pro Console for $269!

I bought an Elite for $549 with 4 games. Since i already had Mass Effect and Gaylo, i mean Gaylo, i mean Halo 3 and i returned them for $100 each and that brought it down to $349. JB still hasnt added the Kungfu Panda and Lego Indi to the exlusion list despite being told it wasnt allowed so you can fight for a trade in deal and sell that game off too to further the cheapness of the console.

Hi Darren where did you buy that from EB? The guys I've spoken to at EB have said you can't return the games that come with the system, which sounds wrong to me. I'm really keen to buy another xbox 360 this christmas as my old one with all my games was stolen a month ago and I'm missing live.

Haha yeah i only bought one because my old one went all 'OOooO Darren im gonna **** myself something chronic when you get a new game'. I live in Adelaide. I bought the elite from the Rundall mall EB and they gave me a reciept with mass effect and gaylo 3 seperate from the xbox elite reciept. I then traveled down to the city cross building where there is another EB (should take about 10 mins if you skip on the light lunch and window shopping) and returned them. Either they did it because they didnt know or they just love me but, it happened and it happened good. I had a arguement prepared had they refused because it is like any other purchase i would make at the store whats the difference? That and they don't have anything in writing stating that you may not do this, unless! My uber mad skillz have failed me and i must suffer punishment from Obi Wan. patdc..just do a lot of whinging on a busy day and they should do it.

it looks like they removed all mention of the $339 offer unfortunately. that's the dream of EB price matching gone too.

You could try to get them to price match by using the old picture of the target deal, if your lucky...

ok I went to eb today to try my luck, the manager was a tough one at burwood and he called up target who had no stock, so no deal. He did reveal that target was honouring the old price though(guess the editor of the catalgue will get the sack) and so everyone rushed target and it was sold out everywhere. I went to target and sure enough they sold out at $339(had the guy call up various stores just to be sure) apparntly everyone camped out in the morning. Anyway I tried carlingford, which was a smaller store which I didn't remember enquiring. Everyone bought wiis at carlingford, which left the xboxes. However, the guy thought the deal was for arcade, howver I argued with him to double check, and he reluctantly discounted the pro. So short story is, you might still find some at a smaller store, but it was a really cheap deal. I'm happy with the new xbox now

yeah do they appear at full RRP on the receipt?
and also, would JB trade indy/panda? i see it's not on their exclusions list...but they are both packaged in one case
i think im going to get the 399 pro bundle from EB...wanna try refund gears of war and NFS:most wanted
if that doesn't work wanna try trading NFS/indy/panda for GOW2
BUT if neither work i'll prob go with the 399 bundle at gametraders with indy/panda/GOW2

I didn't say anything for them to put it on a seperate receipt, he just did it. May just be my luck. As for the JB thing, they will take it in because its not on the exclusion list but, they will only take it as one game so if you manage to do it as two (i argued for at least a half hour) then you get my big thumbs up! all three of them!..?
