Kotaku recently made a new write-up for the (most possibly confirmed) Australian pricing for Rock Band here:
http://www.kotaku.com.au/games/2008/08/australian_rock_band_pricing_confirmed_still_ball-busting.html

So, being the economical gamers that we are, would you purchase it at that price? Or even if it was slightly lower (as it always is) but still more than $400?

I was looking forward to this title when it first came out, but it's been nearly a year since then and now that GH: World Tour, Rock Revolution, and even Rock Band 2 have been announced, it really wouldn't make sense to pay that much for something that will be superseded by the time it arrives on these shores.

So what say you?

Its beyond what Im willing to pay. I havent even forked out for GH yet. I might consider it if I had nearby friends who would come around and play it often but that isnt the case.

No way, that is far to expensive. I've payed less than that for 4 consoles.......DS, Gamecube, PS2 and Wii....$440 all up for those 4.

Thats a major Rip and as said before, its taken forever to arrive.

I'm not a fan of guitar hero at all, but the drums do interest me, but no way.

Granted I'm waiting until I pick up a PS3/360 before jumping into the next gen music games (since the Wii doesn't like all these downloadable songs much) $520 seems INSANE for any game including Rock Band. I mainly wanted the game for drums/vocals so I would probably buy the standalone game locally, in case the local DLC doesn't work with US versions of the game, import the RB2 drum kit from the US and use a standard USB mic for singing. Playing GH3 and GH Aerosmith has been killing my love for Guitar peripheral music games, and no matter how many times I visit the arcade to play Guitar Freaks I can't find that joy again.

Now its time to see how the other side of the evil coin will price their giant band game bundle. My bet is for the COMPLETE instrument package we are looking at $420 (70 for the game, 90 for 2 guitars, 150 for drums and $20 for a cheapass mic) but Activision still have time to prove me wrong and screw over the entire country.

Anything more than $250 is simply out of my league. I know it's worth more than that, but I can't justify $520, $400 or even $300. I don't even feel bad that I'll miss out on playing it - it's only a game right??

$150 for GH3 was a stretch for me Tongue

$520 is way out of possibility!

My wii was $400 at launch, and yet they want me to pay $520 for ONE game. Outrageous.

I hope GH4 is a bit... a lot more reasonable
