Harvey Normal FAIL.

Just called my local Harvey Norman where I placed a pre-order for Uncharted 3 Special Edition. I even received email confirmation of the pre-order and a pre-order number.

Haven't been contacted by HN advising the game was available for pick-up today, so I called them and they couldn't find the order in the system. Went through a couple of checks: phone number, last and first name and the pre-order confirmation number.

Pre-order couldn't be found, and was then advised that that particular HN outlet had been "sold out" of their UC3 Special Ed pre-orders for a while now and while I could get the normal edition of the game, I couldn't get the Special Ed anymore.

Ridiculous! If you've run out of copies from being "sold out" of pre-orders for a while, then why would they send a confirmation email with a pre-order number, confirming that I was able to pre-order that version of the game!?

Not happy.

Yep, had _exactly_ the same experience dude. Got mine from JB price matched.

mish: Do you happen to have a copy of the receipt? I might try getting my local JB to price match the UC3 Special Ed.

I've seen that another HN in Preston has the Special Eds in stock, but I don't want to drive all the way out there just to purchase this. I'd rather now give my money away to other shops.

I got my copy of Uncharted 3: Special Edition from Harvey Norman today! The same Harvey Norman outlet that I made the pre-order from. Still not happy though that their system "confirmed" I had a pre-order even when they didn't have stock and I missed out.

After work, went to the Harvey Norman store I pre-ordered the game and received the email confirmation of the pre-order from. I brought the print out of the email confirmation of my pre-order with me.

After showing the sales assistant my pre-order, he checked the system but couldn't find my name or any details of my pre-order, despite me clearly having the print out confirmation of my pre-order. He then echoed what another sales assistant told me over the phone a couple of days ago: that they had sold out of UC3: Special Ed a while ago, and if my name wasn't in the system, I missed out despite having that confirmation of the pre-order.

I asked him if he knew when the pre-orders for the Special Ed were "sold out" and he checked the system...from what I could see on his screen, it seems like that particular store only had stock for about 15 UC3 Special Eds. I saw one of the pre-orders which was made the same day as mine and he thought it was strange too. So he kindly went back to the stock room to check if there were any copies left.

He came back with a copy and I asked him if they had extras, but the answer was that someone had double-ordered by accident. Not sure whether that was true or not...just excited that I have a copy of UC3 Special Ed and only paid $78 for it, same price as the normal version!
