Hi guys I have only just registered and this is my 1st post but I just wanted to know other peoples thoughts of GAME's new reward system, I used to be a loyal customer to GAME due to the reward system but with what they are now offering to customers is insulting to us loyal customers I loved the idea that for every $500 I spent at game (5000 points) I knew I would get a voucher for $28.50 but now we get $2.00 off for every $100 we spend. I have sent an email off to customer service advising my disappointment in this move and would ask the rest of the community to do the same. The reply I got from my sent email was "thanks for the feed back we take all feedback on board blah blah blah, one of the new features we now offer is reward points on everything in-store inc consoles" I would rather have the just games as a console is usually just a 1 time purchase. Anyway that is my rant but I would like to know how everyone else feels about this move?

I didn't know their new rewards system was $2 off for every $100 spent. That's a far cry from $28.50 for every $500 spent (5000 points)!

I'm certain that with the old system, points were accrued on ANY amount spent in-store (they hadn't decided to include online purchases at that time). I amassed 5000 points fairly easily when a new console was purchased along with games to go with it!

If this is true, definitely very poor "rewards", though I suppose we do get something, as opposed to not getting anything from EB or even JB Hi-Fi (though the games are cheaper at JB).

madcat: They send out something in the mail with an attached voucher to that value...previously anyway. It does take some time for them to dispatch the voucher. But if they've changed the system now...

Charlie: Yeah. That's really poor, though I'd still go to Game for the trade-ins. And any discount is better than nothing, but it's a good $18.50 difference from the old system once 5000 points have been accrued!

I think I will now be going back to EB or JB at least at EB they will price match trade values and any competitive offer that other companies have they also seem to be getting all the exclusives now anyway, so sad Sad or I may just bypass them all and start online ordering I just hate waiting for my new release titles.

Game for me just can't compete on boxed prices anymore. I have tried to get them to price match on two occasions lately and they just flat out refuse. So I go straight next door to EB or buy online.

GAME is ****house. Avoid at all costs. Just get EB or Dickies to price match.

They'll be out of business by this time next year.

It is for me. The only reason I went there was they have decent trade prices and this.

Only reason I'm going back it to spent a $100 credit but importing maket it hard for me to buy retail and I cant find a decent Collectors edition to put it towards Sad

Edit: Personal Vendetta against GAME because you worked there putty? :p

Personally, the reason why I've always liked Game is because of the staff and service. I've been a regular at two different Game shops (the one in Box Hill before it closed down and now in Ringwood) and the staff are absolutely awesome. I actually feel welcome there and know I can stop by to have a chat with the staff there whenever I'm in the area.

But retail-wise? Yeah, not the greatest place to buy games. With the Rewards card changing the "rewards", it's definitely a reason encouraging me to shop at places with more competitive prices (even if those places don't have rewards systems).

I totally agree with you there ianinozzie, I also have 2 regular stores I shop with, the staff were awesome 1 guy in particular knows his stuff, and I didn't even have to prompt them to price match they just do it for me, which you just don't seem to get any more (customer service) in retail. Also made my 1st pre-order at EB in a lllooonnnggg time  and now I feel dirty lol, dam you EB and your exclusives! (shaking fist in the air)
