Dead Island Review (single player, Half-way completed)
Techland never heard of them and never played any of there games. I must admit i was a bit worried by the metacritic score of 71 when i brought the game, but i since then found the game to be a flawed diamond in the rough. There are so many great points to this game and so many negatives... Try to think of it as oblivion before there patches started fixing bugs.
Graphics: 7/10 Dead island suffers from a lack of polish that people have come to expect of game titles today. The island is beautiful if you can ignore the minor and sometimes major flaws within the view, then it's amazing to see a zombie game set somewhere other than the normal scary locations. zombies are detailed well with rotten flesh and skin draping off there bodies. During my time playing I've come across missing textures and floating items and zombies, But there mostly funny and nothing to serious.
Sound: 8.5/10 The music in the background has a 28 days(movie) music feel, the screams and roars from the zombies are terrifying. I found myself constantly looking behind checking for zombies. The weapons have a satisfying thump and are well placed. The only let down was corny dialogue and voice acting. (Good the hear some Aussie accents tho

Gameplay: 9/10 The outer wrapping may look ugly, But the core mechanic is just dying to be put into a AAA game title. Weapon swings have meaning and aren't to be wasted, The weapons do tend to degrade a bit to quickly, But there are plenty of places to repair them. Enemies require a unique tactic and weapons to handle the situation which is refreshing other than just running backwards. One thing that can be off putting is that everything respawns a bit too quickly and can farmed very easy.

nal Thoughts: This game is essential if your a zombie/horror fan and require something a bit more open world to play with. If your NOT into zombies there is fun to be had here, but maybe wait to get it on the cheap. Would i recommend this game yes, yes and yes. Will majority of people like it probably not which is sad.
What is this game worth? Anything below $60, anything over that and You will fell ripped off!
Will it get added to my permanent collection? YES! Unless the 2nd half of the game goes rotten. (pun intended)
