Back in January I created a thread discussing a very similar topic where GAME were sending out preowned titles for a sale they had on their website without any warning or notices to the purchasers. I noticed in the chat a few people (admittedly fewer than last time) who have received copies of Vanquish from their latest sale that were not in optimal condition. I wouldn't mind centralising people's experience here. Does this look like its happened again (preowned titles sent out) or is this another issue entirely? There have been a few GAME sale since the one mentioned earlier and no news of preowned titles have come up until now. Anyway, what was your experience? Here's the old thread: http://www.ecogamer.com.au/forums/topic,2263.0/

Mine was perfect, sealed with holo sleeve but users over at ozbargains had same problem as mentioned. Some said they thought they looked preowned.

Likewise with beakeroo! Mine was also brand new and sealed with the lenticular sleeve. Also a nice looking 99 dollar sticker as well... Feel sorry for BoxerSantaros because his copy is a Xbox 360 format like mine and I got lucky... My first purchase with GAME and I don't think I'll purchase from them again. Rather spend a bit of money on an import and guarantee a brand new sealed copy of the game.

Sorry guys if this sounds rude, but why do people still buy so called "NEW" games from EB and GAME?
Everyone knows they are a glorified video store which the cheap skates just "rent" from.

I didn't think "Game" was as bad as EBgames (do "Game" have that 7 day trial period too?).

Most of my local orders have come from Game. I logged in to see some of the purchases I have made over the course of 2 years to try and refresh my memory. It seems I have had the odd game arrive opened or at least, not entirely new. Once ordered 2 copies of Ninja Blade when they were around $9 (I think). One arrive sealed, the other 2nd hand. Wasn't too worried as I intended to use them as trade bait. Before that....GTA IV: Collectors Edition. Outer box arrived damaged/dusty and it was obvious that it had been in their shop front. All the contents inside were new so I again wasn't too concerned.
Ordered once from Sanity during their clearance game sale a while back. All the games had been opened with some clearly spending some time on a shelf in a store. Haven't placed an order online with them since. I don't even want to begin to remember how many years it's been since I've shopped in one of their stores.
I can't fault EB Games, JB Hi-Fi, CDWOW as I've only ordered from them a handful of times and everything's always arrived sealed.
I can sympathies with anybody whose had a game arrive in poor condition. Particularly when you've thought it was brand new or in a mint condition. It's even more annoying when it's been something you've been wanting to play/purchase for a while.

i got a copy of vanquish for $18 on PS3 - came unwrapped, no shrink wrap, no holo sleeve, but had a $99 GAME sticker on the front.
Everything inside was fine though, the manual and disc were 100% (no scratches, and looked new)

I got my copy from the latest sale on Monday.
Perfect, sealed, holo-slip inclusive 360 copy with $99, and $68 sale stickers on the outer wrapping.
=)
Much better than the copy of AvP I received from Game in December with a case that was smashed to pieces...
