Hi all,

I used to be a very happy Zavvi customer but I have a very bad problem of late. I preordered LA Noire and received a confirmation that it had been dispatched on the 18th of May. It is the 23rd of June and still no game. I waited a long time and then sent them a polite email asking what my options were.

In the past, Zavvi have always been helpful in responding to my pre-sale questions. I assumed the same would be true of my post-sale question. It has been almost 2 weeks, 3 threads of messages and Zavvi simply will not reply. Very sadly, I googled the problem of Zavvi ignoring emails and it seems to be a somewhat common occurrence. I would usually write an order like this off and never shop there again, but I paid 35 pounds.

Does anyone have any advice on what I can do/what my rights are as an Australian citizen using a British online shop? Can I report it to the British equivalent of Fair Trading (whatever that may be)... or not?

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,
Steve

I don't know what you can do, but Zavvi are also ignoring my messages. I ordered a game that was meant to be out last week, but they haven't dispatched it. I keep asking them what is going on, but no-one replies.

Starting to get over Zavvi.

Steve, did you pay via PayPal? If so, I would open a dispute to get your money back.

Kablammo,

Thanks for the reply. Last night, I contacted Consumer Direct UK (kind of like a British Fair Trading) via this address: https://ssl.datamotion.com/form.aspx?co=593&frm=complainform&ri=WA&to=enquiries. Not sure if this is a coincidence (I assume not) but Zavvi contacted me 2 hours later.

Unfortunately I paid via credit card, so I have to go through a rather frustrating process to claim a refund.

Anyway, I hope this helps.
Steve

I've had a lot of problems with Zavvi recently, both my last two orders have taken about 4 weeks to ship despite no indication at the time that there is an issue with stock.

I too am disappointed with Zavvi.
My steelbook blu-ray was crushed and I asked for a return.
No reply so I messaged them again...
After my second message they said they're going to investigate the problem...
Yeah right more like ignoring me.
So uncool...

The hut/Zavvi are insanely busy stores sometime emails will be ignored if they have nothing new to add.

I have never had a single failed delivery out of close to 60 orders but one 360 game took a month to arrive (the longest I've ever waited).

The staff levels are probably not keeping pace with the growth in popularity of the site, I just can't see hut/zavvi deliberately giving people the run around.

Also the hut/zavvi are based in Europe not the Uk so there is no point bothering the uk fair trade commission.

KRiSX

Just a word of warning. On the Zavvi website, it says that you need to contact them after 30 days of not receiving your item... and that, if over 40 days, they may not be able to help. So be sure to make contact ASAP. I hope this helps.

No reply from my message on Friday yet, I ordered AssBro on 30/5 and nothing so far. Not even a stream of emails saying 'sorry for the delay' like when my NBA Jam took a month to ship from zavvi.

I ordered cheap Enslaved today, if that's also a problem I'll be using thehut a lot more.

So my Enslaved shipped 2 days after ordering.

Still no response form my AssBro so I cancelled it and left a message saying that I'd done so as they hadn't bothered to ship it.

So then they got back to me that night saying they couldn't help me with my query as I'd cancelled the order.

What-eves.

Isn't TheHut the same as Zavvi?
Would it make any difference in regards to customer service?
