Hi All,

Online, SSFIV: Arcade Edition has been advertised as costing $15.  I go check it out last night and it's $24! WTF??  Why is Sony gouging us an extra $9 for something that is distributed electronically?  If anything, it should actually be CHEAPER as our dollar is higher than the green back.

Yes, I still bought it, but does that mean I (and others) deserve to be ripped off?  Of course not.

Aussies don't deserve to be ripped off, but you shouldn't have bought it at that mark up. If sony made zero digital sales in Australia because of their offensive 'because we can' mark ups they would be forced into making changes.

Unfortunately too many aussies don't care or don't even realize they are being ripped off. On xbox live there are also regional price discrepancies but they are far less severe, buying points at a discount pretty much negates the mark ups entirely.

Sorry to say this but you are part of the problem  Roll Eyes.

It's also VERY easy to set up a US account for yourself.. the only issue then is buying US PSN cards (which you can now safely do via Amazon) or using a US credit card (or something similar).

it's fiddly to do the card thing.. but the savings and choices are WELL worth it.

in a few instances digital copies can be beneficial. For example if you own 2 PS3 consoles and wanted to network play with the family, instead of purchasing 2 disc version you could purchase 1 digital version and download to both consoles.

Actually just purchased the digital version of burnout paradise for $7.99 for this very reason, even though i already own it on disc.

My general setup now is to purchase disc games from the UK and digital games from a US account.
