Mr A: Could you expand on how it is a very bad game for those of us who are interested in getting it but haven't dedcided yet? What makes it so bad in your opinion?

(note: only what I've heard about the demo, not the full game) I've heard from quite a few people that it feels 'dated'. Even though they expected it to feel dated it still didn't help in their enjoyment of the game. In saying that, though, it would depend on person to person and how well the final game plays out (as a lot of us will find out really soon).

ianinozzie...this is for the 360 version...
- dated gfx...jaggies galore
- dated & bad animation - clipping and vysnc
- unstable framerates
- has bugs here and there...yes game bugs not the other type
- linear levels and scripted enemies....no REAL Ai's

The pc version has better framerate (I have a very high end pc) and textures do look cleaner. But at the end of the day it feels like a clunky game or a game sitting on alpha stage.

The statements above are my opinion...of course yours will be different Smiley

For anyone not yet convinced, I played the PS3 version for 4 hours last night and had  a great time. While not the prettiest game around, I had no trouble with bugs or framerate. Upon starting, I tried multiplayer with no issues other than somewhat dated graphics and standard gameplay (I'm not big for online play).

Single player is my game and I had a fun time with no issues other than just the lacking wow factor. But then Duke is more about the humour and chauvinism of an action hero from the 80's and if that's what you're after, you'll love it. Had some laugh out loud moments and looking forward to more this wekend. The not-so-highend graphics almost lend it a classic feel that I thought suited the game pretty well.

I'd never played a Duke title before (I'm old enough but never got into them) but I'm having a great time. I'm planing on finishing it and maybe trading back for credit towards something later in the year because I've also got Infamous 2 to play but I'm having a great time experiencing the Duke for now. Give it a go!

Hm. Thanks for the reviews, Mr A and gammafish. I think this might be a game I'd rent, or possibly get it via the 3-for-1 trade at JB then trade it in!

Yeah pretty much agree for the PS3 version.  Graphics are especially weak for 2011 standards, but there are no bugs (having done 1/3 to 1/2 of singleplayer and some multiplayer) and everything else is close to 10/10.  Loved it overall ... however I would not pay full price / trade full price games for this.

QUICK REVIEW!
Graphics, gameplay, level design
are all bad.
"some" parts are fun.
This game gets a 5/10 from me

I hated it and traded it in to EB for $90 (edge). Thought it was a total last-gen, boring piece of ****ola

Jury seems to be out on this and with the consistent poor reviews, I'm glad that I traded in for Infamous 2 instead! Staying away from Duke Nukem Forever...until I can rent it anyway.

Ok Guys...I tried the PC version it's much better and acceptable loading times than the console versions.

Here is the CHEAPEST DNF steam key you'll find online

http://www.getgamesgo.com/product/duke-nukem-forever

AUD $38 (Just bought it today)

You'll just need to bare with slow steam download speeds. Since it was below $40 I got it. But stay away from the console version...both of them are VERY bad.
