I'd say if you're able to, get a hard copy of the current EB Games brochure where they have CLEARLY indicated that trading in PS3 LA Noire nets you $82. The electronic copy of the brochure is available here: http://catalogue.ebgames.com.au/?utm_source=webmail&utm_medium=email&utm_content=Catalogue&utm_campaign=Webmail20110513On page 8. Last month, they advertised the PS3 Pro Controller (can't remember what exactly it's called) for $30+ in the brochure but they wanted to charge me $50+ (nearly $60) in store because that was the in-store price that the system was scanning. I produced the brochure, which they had stacks of outside the store, and they had to honour the price.

I should also mention that EB Games (at least the Eastland Ringwood EB) had LA Noire's launch price for $88. Which isn't too much more expensive than most other places (though JB and Big W had it beat by $10)...at least it wasn't still $109.95!

Just went into the store on the way home and they said it's $82, and said that the edge card do not apply as the brochure states that it's not in conjunction with other offers. In that case, I wonder what I paid the $30 for edge card for. Ridiculous. Guess I would try the other three stores near my place tmr.

Who said I traded in a 360 copy? Btw, adding the 3 trash game to it will bring LA Norie down to $65. so that's $84.5 for LA Noire, not too sure whether edge works on top of the trade 4 and get 30% deal either.

The EB catalogue with the trade offer says:
"EB Trade Policy applies. Store credit only. No multiples. Trade values apply to the PS3 & 360 versions only. Not to be combined with any other offer." (Emphasis added)

$45! I wonder if these EB employees know what they're doing. The values of games change every week, but there seems to be a huge variance between the $65 and the $45 values that have been offered.
Having said that thought, if it were a phone call to EB Customer Service, I'm not surprised that they quoted a lower and different value. They go by whatever is in their system, irrespective of what promotions are available at the moment. They never factor in any additional 15% extra for trades, for instance, or if there is a hard copy brochure listing a different trade-in price.

I think it maybe because people took advantage of this deal in conjunction with the last trade deal towards preown, if anyone remembers. I remember someone said they traded in Crysis for $82 + extra 30% since it's towards preown and 15% extra again with edge which brings it to $118 or so and that justifies the $45 trade in this time. So I am guessing you get $45 if you trade in with 7 other games (since current promotion is trade 8 and get extra 50%), if you trade it in by itself, it's $82.
Don't be greedy and get caught out, they are probably observing who's asking these questions and taking account of who you are. I know that the Sydney CBD store does and they said LA Noire will be the starting point, hence the $45 trade in. Plus it's mostly people here who would trade in the game so early since average people would finish the game then trade or play it for a bit first before trading. It's sus to be trading a day after AND kick up a fuss about the trade value as well. It's not hard to note down names of the serial traders and spread it to nearby stores.

Agreed. But still, having different trade-in values from a company/shop confuses people!
