Another sure hit from Rockstar is coming out this Thursday, May 19th. I'm sure many of you already have plans for it and if you do, please share your wisdom to those unprepared.

Price round-ups are forum discussions that let the community track prices and trade-in offers for upcoming releases. It is an opportunity to share trade-in exploits, point out online sales, reveal broken street dates and helps reduce work for staff so that we can have more frequent round-ups.

Ad all over Sydney Buses say 20th but GAME have tweeted that it will be Thursday.

So very conflicted here; LA Confidential is one of my favorite books and is a great film. This can;t live up to those. Can it?

Official date was supposed to be Friday, but as is the case 99% of the time games released on Fridays have their dates broken on Thursday. I think its a preemptive for that. Its been a long time since a game was released on a Friday and every Friday date I've noticed has quickly changed to a Thursday during release week.

Also remember - if you have the option - make sure you grab it on PS3 instead of 360, since the 360 version spans multiple dvds.

Charlie: I absolutely loved LA Confidential the movie too, and I am wondering if the game can reach those lofty noirish cinematic heights? Haven't gotten around to reading the book yet though.

Thought I'd list the pre-order bonuses one would get with L.A. Noire (you can still pre-order at most shops!):

EB Games - $108 with pre-order bonus of "The Naked City" Vice Case and "The Badge Pursuit Challenge".

Game - $82 online, with pre-order bonus of "The Sharpshooter" Detective Suit.

JB Hi-Fi - $78, with pre-order bonus of "A Slip of the Tongue" Traffic Case and Soundtrack DLC.
http://www.jbhifi.com.au/games/la-noire/

Fishpond - $90.11 (as of today), with pre-order bonus of "The Sharpshooter" Detective Suit.

The EB Games one is the most expensive but it has unique pre-order content. JB Hi-Fi is the cheapest, also with unique pre-order content.

Fishpond was actually the cheapest about a week ago, when there was a pre-order price of $69.99...it's gone up $20+ since then! Not really worth getting any more because you'd have to wait until they dispatch it and even if you pre-order now, you might have to wait until 2 June to get the game.

I preordered at EBGames, but have since been told that if you price match, you don't get the preorder content.  Is this true?  Seems really shifty if that's the case.

Yep, thats exactly what I was told when i preordered today... Its abit sh!t as JB hifi and Game have their own exclusive DLC to. EB should just be happy with the fact you chose them to buy from. (I had credit, which is the only reason I didnt go to JB)

I pre-ordered the PS3 version (first time I've chosen a PS3 version over an Xbox 360 version) from JB Hi-Fi online.  Hopefully it will get posted on Wednesday night and arrive before Friday.

Went to ebgames and cancelled my pre-order.  Unfortunately the jbhifi and game at knox have no DLC codes left.  Apparently only enough was sent to satisfy existing pre-orders.  Damn you eb.

Probably a bit early, but does anyone know if there's likely to be a trade-back deal for EB or a fairly high trade value? Seems like we haven't had those in a while and this is supposed to be a big game, right?
