ModNation Racers, the latest in the PS3's line of Play/Create/Share games, is released on May 20th.

Want it cheap? Check the MNR Price Roundup thread.

Price round-ups  are forum discussions that let the community track prices and trade  in offers for upcoming releases. It is an opportunity to share trade  in exploits, point out online sales, reveal broken street dates and  helps reduce work for staff so that we can have more frequent  round-ups.

So last week I went to the local JB and asked very nicely if I could get Modnation Racers on a 3 - for - 1 preorder deal, like Red Dead, and even though it wasn't in the catalogue, the dude said ok.

So now I will get all the preorder bonuses as well as the game free (except for the 3 games).

Anyone have any idea how long this game is meant to last in single player? Can't find a decent review that'll tell me. Am seriously contemplating grabbing this, but I can never guarantee I'll have internet cause I travel a lot. Only want to buy if it's going to be worthwhile as a single player game!
Thanks

Once reviewer said (cant' remember the review) that the game really shines in multiplayer and track editing and that the single player was lacking (load times, cheat/harsh AI) (mind you, the load times are just as bad in multiplayer).

Even if its not that long, its single player would be better than Mario Kart's i would think, there's only so much cheating-rubber-band-AI one can take from that game (i remember being hit by a red shell, then green, then blue, right before the finish line, made me rage)

The reviewers are just being wanky that this game ain't Mario Kart, I betcha the game will be better. Mario Kart is notorious for AI cheating to the point that you'd blue-shelled twice literally 1m from the finish line, but yet everyone says its the best thing ever.

Mario Kart 64 and DS are my favourites by far, the sheer frequency of blue shells and cheapness of the AI killed MK Wii for me, but you are right, everyone seems to rave on about Mario Kart Wii anyway. I reckon ModNation Racers will be better too.

none of the sales start until the 20th, except Dick Smith which says 19th (but has MNR as being released on the 20th)
