In NSW you only get get store credit and you'll have to put it on a preorder or buy something right there on the spot with it other states I believe you can get it put on gift cards or cash but 20% less

Also you can get $85 cos I did a similar thing with Mass effect 2 did it literally 1 min before the store closed on that last day and was able to get $85+edge

it's not $78 anymore at Kmart but you could do it, but not really worth it imo when everything is like $20 more at EB

I traded one in at Hurstville Sydney and I bought a $4 PS2 game with the store cred. Apparently my other $81 is still in their system ready to use next time.

Oh really? But it hasn't even been a week!

Anyway, I'll probably just take my copy to GAME and ask them to 'price match' EB's trade-in deal. Not only will GAME beat EB's deal, but their prices aren't "$20 more" Cheesy

Has anyone traded in a high value game then purchased the same game price matched in the same transaction?
I did once though it was a 360 for a PS3 swap, I still gained around $15 credit.
Wonder what would happen if you get the exact same game.

Good luck doing that - i'm sure most store staff will tell you where to go.

^Shirts look butt ugly anyway, would rather hang myself than be seen in those.

I was going to disagree with you on that point until I saw the actual shirt in store during the week. You're right, they are a really ugly looking thing (the ones that had been advertised on the website (and on posters in store) looked pretty nice I thought, dark bluey-green shirt with a nice image of the Big Daddy reaching out with a little sister on the shoulder, instead the actual shirts are on basic black with a rather boring image of the Big Daddy just standing there with the little sister standing behind it.

as for the quality of the promo shirts from JB; I've been quite happy so far.  Got the Borderlands shirt, the Brutal Legend shirt (pretty amusing with the faux "World Tour" listing of areas on the back, and very happy with the Assassin's Creed II Hoody-shirt thing (and quite peeved with the number of people who scalped off multiple shirts on eBay for $50 a pop.... why do I bother working?).

and rightly so.

although; I can see the merit in wanting to try ans swap 1-for-1 from one system to another (eg. if you bought a PS3 version for someone but they want it on the xbox instead, or one of the machines isn't working properly at the minute or whatever). Especially if you were to be trading in an unused (or sealed) copy.

Wasn't there someone on these forums who explained that with EB's 7 day returns policy even if a game that was returned had been used they could still sell it as "new" rather than "pre-owned" (slightly off topic; but if that's doable I would like to think that returning a 360 version of someone could allow you to exchange it for a PS3 version if they both have the same sale price).

It can be done!.. I did it with COD MW2 I swaped a Sealed xbox copy for the PS3 one. They traded the XBOX copy in for $93.50 then they price matched the PS3 version for $78 (then gave me $15 credit).. This was the same transaction.. Then when i told them its crazy an all i actually wanted was a straight swap they said it was store poicy. (I wasnt complaining)
