I have no favourite, but 2k9 was a pretty big year for gaming, period. Arkham Asylum was an awesome game, as was Uncharted 2, Dragon Age and Left 4 Dead 2. Every one of those titles have their merits, and all will be played multiple times down the track.

There may be some games in 2009 that are great that I haven't played but for the ones I have the Game of the Year would have to be something I spent the most time playing and that's Killzone 2. It has the complete package with gorgeous visuals, great sounds, story but most importantly the multiplayer. I haven't had as much fun with any game in multiplayer than i do with Killzone 2 in a long while. Unlike a game such as Modern Warfare 2 the multiplayer has relentless action from start to finish and doesn't skip a beat. The objectives require teamwork and for the most part there is no such thing as 'camping' which i find alot in other multiplayer shooters. I also find that the maps are all well designed and fun to play and there's a good amount of customization and weapons.
And now its platinum its a very affordable game to pick up.

Definitely and without a doubt, Uncharted 2. I don't even like shooters, and yet this game had no competition to me. Absolutely brilliant game all around, it's not just my GOTY, it's one of my favourite of all times.

Uncharted 2 was my GOTY for sure. Dragon Age and AC2 were great too but Uncharted 2 seemed (for me anyway) to take that extra step into awesomeness.

I really liked Shadow Complex, for Bang for Your Buck, Shadow Complex was the best deal around.

I bought my PS3 just to play Uncharted 2, and it was the best decision I made. It is a fantastic game, and just pips Modern Warfare 2 and Left for Dead 2 for my GOTY vote. I have yet to play Batman AA but looking forward when it eventually gets delivered.

Uncharted 2 hands down GoTY, everything about it defines the reason why we play games: Epicness, good gameplay, excellent production values and great story/ characters. If you didn't like this game you probably don't like video games.
Runners up: Demons Souls. Sure its flawed and the AI is so retarted that you can just Jesus spot them. But the implementation of an Online system that gives it a MMO feel within the single-player is genuinely the definition of Next-gen gaming. The game also returns to the old school Knight vs Dragon feel without crazy "Final Fantasy" twists, which to me feels is a breath of fresh air in a stale Dungeon crawling genre.

I've got a few standouts, hard to compare them though. Probably my most played game would be Street Fighter IV. Got it in March, liked it, but was never particularly good at it. Got back into it in the last few months, started to learn how the game works and have been having a ball playing the hell out of it, against friends.
Uncharted 2 was an amazing experience also, not as long lived as SFIV, but a damn rollercoaster ride the whole way.

I would have to say Shadow Complex with Batman: Arkham Asylum second. Shadow Complex was a really excellent game, Full of content, fun to play and all for 1200ms points. Batman would be second for me as it was really unexpected to me that it would be an excellent game.

I have to agree with some posts and say Uncharted 2 was right up there, for me that was a pleasant surprise as there was a guy at my local EB going on and on about it and I reluctantly bought it. Glad I got it! Modern warfare 2 was pretty good too.
