(Truth?) Game and their "24 hour sales" or lack of

Just wanted to start up this thread to see if anyone got everything they ordered from Game in their '24 hour sale'.  Of particular interest I ordered Soul Calibur 4 for $9 and had it cancelled, so if you managed to get Soul Calibur 4 for that price then please leave a message so I can get my facts straight.
  Or else if you didn't also leave a comment if you wish, so as we can all get an idea of the TRUE 'lack of stock' situation as stated in the cancellation email supplied by Miss Amanda Mcdonald (Game Customer Relations)

Yeh I got mine cancelled... emailed them to complain and mentioned ACCC etc...

This was response

"We have done nothing wrong in regards to the ACCC as we have refunded you for these games. Also on our website it is stated that over the Christmas and New Year period GAME may not be able to guarantee all orders.
 
We can not back order a game if we are not getting anymore in stock, we do not enjoy cancelling customers orders and would have gladly back ordered this for you if we could.
 
If one of our game stores have this in stock I am happy to tell them to sell it to your for the $9.00

I have had orders cancelled in the past. I didn't complain and got nothing as a result.

I did get a free replacement copy of GTA IV (from a different order) since the copy I received was slightly scratched, bent manual and missing the map. I complained about that one. I got to keep both copies, so I was happy. That time wasn't Game's fault and take2 sent the replacement directly to me, so I doubt it cost Game anything.

Ordered 1 copy of Bioshock and 1 copy of 007 Quantum of Solace Collectors Edition (One for $19, other $29) yesterday. Still says "Pending" which is a little bit unusual considering I have had all of my previous orders despatched within 24hrs.

I got Dark Messiah of Might & Magic: Element, You're in the Movies and FIFA Street 3, which is everything I ordered, so no problems here.

I also got my End War bundle and Resident Evil 5 bundle when many others were getting them canceled too.

Guys its a no brainer that they cant fill in all their orders. They would get hundreds or even thousands of orders for these $9 or cheap games. I doubt their system is live. You should be thankfull that game offers these specials. EB wouldnt offer these prices unless hell freezed over. Atleast you were offered the same price instore. Possibly they knew it wasnt available bu if not its a reasonable on their behalf.
ANyways i have a order pending.. not too fussed if its cancelled

Yep I aggree with a l, it's not a trick, it's simply an over-order situation. Eco-gamer and similar sites facilitate this kind of problem. You gotta take the good with the bad. I had my Scene It bundle express posted to me in WA yesterday. Conversely, JBhifi online have yet to send me a $10 Wireless Rockband guitar. I'm not holding my breath. It'll be a bonus if it arrives.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but this is not the case. I ordered a copy of SC4 for $9 and had my order cancelled, below is the email:

I was waaaaay behind on this 24-hour sale, so I ordered some stuff the following week..

At present 2 of the 4 items I ordered are on back-order...

I may email them asking to send the two games they've got...

Not overly fussed if they run out of stock or not, after all it is a sale... It's just online instead of people rushing to a store!

I think GAME need to implement some real-time stock system to be integrated with their online store, it would wipe out any of these issues.  With such a system, there would be no possible way of ordering a game without the stock to fulfil it...

But hey, that's just me in perfect world....!
