So, do you guys buy the special editions with all the bonuses? If its only sometimes what makes you decide whether you do or not?

I buy it only for games Im really fond of and when I have the extra cash to spend. The bonuses also make a difference.

For me, it is the difference in cost

If it is only $10-$20 difference then sure, but when it is a good $50 more, I'll have to think bout it!

I did for RE4.
I did for CnC3.
I just like the feeling of getting the best edition.

Depends if it's something I want on release day.

I get different things collectors, others in regular. As others mentioned if its only 10 more and there is actually something useful in the collectors edition its worth it.

Having said that I once got a regular edition, because the box for the collectors edition with all these extra maps and books was just huge. I was never going to look at them. Both games were the same price too for reg and collectors. I like it when the collectors edition comes with a standard dvd sized case plus a big box for the rest of it that given time (a year or two) I can get rid of.

I usually buy the collectors edition, I'm greedy like that. But every so often the bonus really isn't worth the extra cash, and I am better now than in the past at refusing to pay extra if the collectors edition is a better box and not much more.

I've got collectors of...
Resident Evil 4
Command and Conquer 3

And not really a whole lot else, seeing as it wasn't long ago that my funds would barely pay for normal games.

Im debating the collectors or limited edition for Halo 3. I cant really justify the extra cash to get a helment, but Im a pretty big fan of Halo. Read all the novels.

EH, I'm not going collectors for Halo 3.
I'll just be grabbing standard edition.
Halo has never been one of my absolute favourites.

Probably not. I'm not going to be getting it on launch most likely, so I'll just take what I can get when the time comes.
