Hi world,

I was just wondering if anyone bought something from the Shopping Square website when they had their sale? I bought a DSi for $199 + $10 shipping... After a fortnight they emailed me and said they'd had an unexpected delay and offered a free accessory kit. I was a little annoyed, at the time, but I didn't mind as I'd be getting a bonus accessory kit. I responded with asking if they'd still be giving me the official DSi charger.. they said no.

I don't know why, but this sounds a little bit dodgy to me... why would they take the charger out of the package? They didn't even ask me if I wanted to exchange my OFFICIAL nintendo brand DSi charger for a generic POS. At the moment, I am trying to get them to give me an official charger or a refund.

Did anyone else buy from them and are happy/not happy with them?

Also: I was looking around on the internet before and lots of people have received damaged or DOA products... my DSi should come tomorrow, I'll post an update.

That does sound a bit dodgy if you ask me. I personally haven't used them before but seeing as it was being sold as new (right?) and the official charger comes packaged with the DSi in the box, well, I'm not really sure what's going on there. Either way, something isn't right about it.

Seems to me that its mixed reviews, some people are satisfied and some aren't.

I've used them for little stuff like memory cards and they've been great.

They messaged me back after my long rant to them and said the following:

"we apologize for any inconvenience caused.
all units are brand new and the package has been opened by our team/supplier to provide the correct australian compatible adapter and any non-australia compatible adapter is removed from the package.
please note that different stock could be from different suppliers (local/overseas) depending on the stock availability. regardless of where the stock come from, all units are fully covered by our warranty. in the case if the unit has any problem within its warranty period, please feel free to contact our technical support department through a support ticket here."

It's weird how it wasn't even mentioned on the item listing that the unit was an overseas model. I know DS retail games are region free, but, to the best of my knowledge DSiWare (Is that the name of it?) is region locked.

I'm not overly impressed with them at the moment, as it should of clearly been stated that it was not an Australian model (which most people would expect it would be coming from an Australian online store.

And another thing... it seems weird how they were "replacing the official charger with an accessory pack" to compensate for the delay, I think they were trying to be sneaky so people wouldn't notice that it's a foreign product.

Thank god I didn't buy a PSP Go too.

Just tell them to GTFO and give back your money, thats just ridiculous. I mean c'mon, its like saying.

We ran out of a Xbox360, please accept a piece of candy as a ticket of appreciation

...

Oh hell no, i would be furious if that happened.

I wouldn't accept that if I were you. DSiWare and DSi exclusive games are indeed locked to region. I would personally demand my money back.

Thanks for that info Gameboy... also looks like I'll have to pay to send it back myself and I won't get a refund on shipping which is complete bull****, they should have told me that.

That's $20+ that I'll never see again, and I'll end up with $200 sitting in my paypal too...
