Got Frontlines:Fuel of war (not on the exc list) - $24 FEAR: files (not on the ext list) - Free and CSI: hard evidence (not on the list) for $22. So ODST will be mine for $47 (if the list doesn't change, guy at desk said it wouldn't change within 14 days)

It must have taken Fuchal 1hr or more to get those trades in the system, as they have to process the trades 3 games at a time and write up his address each time with phone number.

The JB he went to must be dumb or something because according to the Trade-in T&C's: (http://www.jbhifi.com.au/games/disclaimers/)

"Maximum 2 copies of any particular title."
AND
"We only trade in games towards other product in store - we do not trade in for cash. Further to this our NSW stores do not trade in towards any form of store credit (Gift Vouchers or otherwise)."
AND
"No multiples of same game are accepted"

So he musta had 15 different games.?!?

Sounds like the JB he goes to is run by 16yr olds.

I had originally planned on having to go to several different JB's to do 6 different trade transactions.  But since I had all the games with me (18 in total), I just asked the dude if I could trade them for 6 copies of Batman AA.  He said yes, but pointed out he would have to do 6 individual transactions - hey, I didn't mind.  So even though I used 4 copies of F.E.A.R. Files, 4 copies of Alaskan Adventure, 2 copies of Lego Star Wars, etc., he just made sure that each of the trade transactions didn't feature multiples.

It helped that the store was quiet at 10am on a weekday, as he had little else to do but process other orders; if it had been midday on a Saturday, that might be a different story as he would have been flat out.  I also did the kind thing and removed all the EB Games stickers before hand, so he saw that he didn't have as much work to process my stuff.

So, with these 6 copies of Batman AA I merely went back an hour later and got one of the regular counter staff/managers to exchange all 6 copies for store credit: 6 x $99 = $594 gift card.

You just have to make sure you get sealed copies of the Batman AA game (which sit behind the counter), or get them to put the yellow "JB HiFi" tape over unsealed versions.  If it is not sealed you can't return it for credit.

Total time involved: 50 mins (including hunting all the games at EB).

Are you guys serious you never thought of this?

I wouldn't be surprised if JB crack down hard on this.  I know of 4 other people who have pulled this trick using Batman AA, so I'm sure it will throw a flag up in the system at head office.

BTW, What is a T&C?

Cheers for that.  Makes sense that they want to protect themselves.

As I said, I was originally planning on doing 6 individual trades at 3 stores over 2 days, then returning each for a gift card 6 separate times.  I figured I would see the first time if I could trade all the games at once.  Low and behold, it worked!

Great idea there Fuchal. I just have to ask though, did you have any problems returning without a receipt? Just wondering if you got any weird looks for trading in 6 x Batman Arkham Asylum all in one go =P

I used the receipts to return the Batman AA's for the gift cards.  You need both the receipts and sealed versions of the games (either still in the factory shrink wrap or with the JB HiFi yellow tape on them).

The guy who did it knew what I was doing but didn't seem to care.  Guess JB HiFi really pissed him off, as he felt no need to try and protect their arses.  What can I say?  Pay your staff minimum wage, expect minimum effort.
