Hey Anthony,

Was thinking about adding a comment section for articles.  As I went to Myers in Brisbane and they had no offers yet for the ps2 games .. so being able to add this info to articles would be cool .

my two cents

A comment section below the article like on some blogs, a great idea!

All I gotta do is select a tickbox in the system and it turns comments on. Although... I left it off because I thought it would be a good opportunity for bots to spam like they do other comment systems.

Maybe Ill change my mind if enough people say they will use it.

Also, can mods delete the comments, as we can on the forums?

No, mods on the forum are seperate to editors and administrators on the site.

There is also a rating system.

I probably wouldn't recommend doing it just yet then, as you wouldn't want to try and deal with comments on your own, as well as a forum, updates and just upkeep of the site Smiley

Also, Is an editor the equivalent of mod, and admin just admin?

Signup with the wavy line number things, I hear it is pretty complex.

But there are ways around all security measures!

Or maybe follow in the footsteps of palgn and have a forum dedicated to comments to articles, that way only members can comment on articles ?

Well, yea. There are ways to beat them but I need to source one.

I beleive these forums will be safe, as the signup process uses a combination of Joomla, Community Builder, SMF and a Joomla-SMF bridge. The comments system will be plain old Joomla, and bots are designed well for plain installations. It happens VERY frequently for WordPress websites.

At this stage the site is still developing. The idea that people could comment and say "such'n'such a store also has this sale' is much more important that monitoring bots. I hadnt thought of that at all to be honest.

And that would be info we shouldnt have to wait for Ant to look through. It would be a lot better to have it there and then Cheesy
