I figured there would be quite a lot of discussion around GAME going into administration, including questions and so forth about preorders, points and store credit. Share your experiences if you have any.

Best link I've come across is this one: http://www.lifehacker.com.au/2012/05/is-it-safe-to-buy-from-game-australia-now-that-it-is-in-administration/

People with preorders should look into spending or refunding their deposits.

If u preordered chances are u used cash, it's **** but hopefully they will honour Max Payne preorders. Anyone thinking this is a good thing for sales is an idiot! Games will be further monopolised and we consumers will just end up paying more. Game have great staff, great selection but like most of Australia, an absolutely **** wholesaler as the Goverment should have done more about it before now. Stephen Conroy is a twit, the ratings won't matter when it all goes overseas for gouging! I feel for the staff and anyone in the situation of losing their job should not be expected to put up with **** from consumers, they are being screwed more that us all. It's $60 down the drain for me but having out up with **** bosses retrenching staff in the last 2 years it really is the managements responsibility and Games corporate staff have just failed. Here's hoping the local staff in Game broadway aren't affected too badly and I hope they all see a good side to it, their customer service is second to none and JB would love to have you...

I'm not saying it's a good thing for sales, I think it's great as it's a long time coming. In the end they only had something like 50 stores left around Australia... Not a big dent at all.

They don't affect the prices of stores that most of us at ecogamer shop at either. The only time GAME were competitive was with trade deals. All new games I buy from England, and all older games that I'm picking up in the bargain bin I buy from England. I've never seen a properly priced bargain bin at EB or GAME.

I found out last night that I won't be getting a refund for my Diablo 3 pre-order and the store said that whilst they are unsure for now, it was unlikely they would get Max Payne in.

The guys felt really sorry for me and apologised profusely about losing my pre-order. Their hands are tied and they can't transfer my pre-order funds across to another game. I've been loyal to the one store for quite some time and the guys that work there are great. Hate to see this happen.

Hit up the local GAME for the 60% off and here's what I got on PS3:

Rugby World Cup 2011 $5.60
Dark Void (preowned) $6
FIFA 11 (preowned, haven't seen yet if the online pass is needed) $8
Homefront (preowned, haven't seen yet if the online pass is needed) $8

So many games, but I took a conservative measure to get all those games before they shut down for good!
