I was ready to duck out of the office at 9.05.

Then twitter had a pic of 100 people in a line outside the front door.

So I didn't bother.

I hadn't even realised the Dick Smith sale was on yesterday! I knew it was happening soon, just not yesterday. After the horror stories, probably just as well that I didn't know...saved me a wasted trip.

Who knows what you might score.
I arrived pretty late and scored quite a bit.
Not exactly what I was after but better than nothing.

m0f0: I was planning on dropping into my local Dick Smith today, just to see if there's anything left over. Doubt it, but it can't hurt checking it out anyway, since I was going to be in the vicinity anyway! Smiley

Good luck!

I was running a couple of errands last Thursday and completely forgot to stop by Dick Smith that day. Sad

But I did go in yesterday, without knowing they were having their Game On sales part 2, and I picked up four games at $41:

Ratchet & Clank All-4-One PS3: $10
Duke Nukem Forever PS3: $10
Sonic Generations Limited Edition PS3: $14
Lego Star Wars 3 3DS: $7

Couple of other things I spotted which were tempting but I resisted getting:

Brink PS3: $10
Rayman Origins Wii: $10 (or it may be $7, I can't remember)
Need for Speed: The Run 3DS: $7

And the shop that I went to in Nunawading had cheaper PS Vita game prices! Uncharted was less than $50, Unit 13 less than $40 from memory. Very VERY tempted because I still haven't purchased Uncharted yet so I might stop by again today to purchase.

Went to my local Dick Smith in Ringwood and there were very limited games, and they didn't have the same discounted prices for Vita games.

Just picked up Uncharted: Golden Abyss from Dick Smith for $48.97. Unit 13 was just under $35. Not a lot of cheap games to pick up at Dick Smith in Nunawading left unfortunately.

Wish I had picked up a Dick Smith brochure yesterday advertising DSi XLs for $40, though probably wouldn't have been able to get any.

Went to the Sydney City flagship store twice.

First sale I got Toy Story 3 (PS3) for $15 as all the good $5 & $10 games were gone.

Second sale I got Brink (PS3) for $10.50 despite the website saying there was no stock of that anywhere in NSW.

In neither case did they honor Medal of Honor (PS3) for $5/$3.50.  The first time they lied and said it was $50.  The second time they said the price was $3.50 but they had no stock, even though the website said there was stock.

Again, they didn't lie if you are referring to 'the list'. A lot of those prices were not changed last week, they only changed this week. You'll probably also find that MoH Limited Edition was a different price to the normal edition. You'll probably also find that the Limited Edition isn't listed anywhere on the website and won't actually scan on the POS in store.

I was and am referring to the plain version of MOH, not the LE.

The LE sold out in the first sale (or so I am led to believe from the website).

I also accept that some prices were not changed the first time.  However, how do you explain discreprencies between in-store stock availability as stated on the website and actual in-store stock availability?

MOH plain edition says available (and in green which means plenty of stock, not 'red' limited stock) ---> not actually available
Brink says not available anywhere in NSW ---> actually available

Stock levels are only updated once per day (around midnight I think) so they are only accurate at day start. That may explain the MoH Plain Edition availability.

...however, it would have been nice if all stores were asked to do a stock count on gaming before the sale started. At least there would have been some sort of accuracy...

MoH LE was deleted from the DS POS (along with a bunch of other games) before the first sale. If you bought one of those games, it would appear on your receipt as DSSP or SUN. Some stores could only sell them if they had been previously priced however.

Brink availability might be explained by knowing the time that you checked stock. If it was on the 10th or before, I think I know why...

Nah I checked the morning of the 13th.  But not complaining about Brink.  It's not the best game out there but was alright, particularly for $10.50.
