Hey all
Was hoping to get some feedback on what everyone thought of the relaunch and the new system. What you like and dislike, pointers for new features and so forth.

Amazing upgrade, good work Anthony.
Love: -How I can see 8 bargains in my screen at any one time. I like how each bargain takes up little room, but can be expanded for more info. -The ability to post bargains! -The fresh smell of the bargains, i.e. game hasn't sold out at the time of posting -That the site can only get better from here
Don't love: Inability to edit bargains Inability to search bargains by platform/store

New site looks great! the only thing i would change is the size of the bargain list boxes. i would make them about 1/2 or two 3rds the size so we can see more on the screen at once.
Keep up the great work!

Hey guys, thanks for the feedback
King, I can't really make the side part any smaller but I can make the site extend wider on wide screens so more info is included.

Really liking the new layout, Anthony. I concur with what steveau has said already but I especially like the compacted posts on the home page.
I remember reading that you plan to in the future, but tags/filtering would be a great addition.
Great work!

Good work Anthony. Logged in today since it has been a while and I liked the layout of the front page of seeing all the bargains and the search. I also like the information side bar/panel/whatever as it looks more up to date with relevant news and not old postings from people wanting to sell non-gaming things. Hardware link is cool too (was that there before or have I just never noticed it?!)
Having said that though, it does look a bit bland colour wise, but hey, this is about gaming bargains not webpage designs! I am sure there will be other things I'll notice but that's all so far.
The next goal is an app. That would be really handy, but I cannot expect too much!

A couple of small things...
1) Several store logos are blurry/stretched, i.e. Mighty Ape/Steam 2) Should hot contributors be sorted by the number of contributions?

Tags and filtering will be a very long way off I am afraid. Don't expect to see it any time soon.
As for the blurry icons, many of those are coming from 16x16 favicons for the stores website. I can manually override them so I may begin doing that for the popular stores (Steam, MightyApe).
Hot Contributors is ordered by the most likes first, then by quantity. I wanted to avoid a situation where a spammer (like a store representative) spamming their wares being placed above someone who posts one really good bargain. Thoughts on that one?

If a store representative spams ecogamer with great bargains, then it wouldn't be an issue. If a store representative spams ecogamer with non-bargains, then you've got a big issue to worry about than how high they rank on the 'hot contributors' list. Personally, it seems better to 'reward' posters who consistently post, rather than someone who maybe just so happens to post the 'Dick Smith Clearance, all games $1' thread. All bargains are usually important, just to different people. For example, I have no interest in all the Steam bargains, but other people do, so it's worth posting regardless of whether 2 or 50 people like it. Just my two cents.

Yea I can see your point. I'm not attached to how it is now so I'll update it.

Just quickly... is there a need for the Active and Latest buttons? I can't see too many people going to the effort of marking their bargain as expired. By the time a deal expires, it will probably be so far down the front page, that its as good as expired. Just a thought!
