Portal 2.

No introduction required. We all will be buying this thing on April 21. But of course, as EcoGamers we want it cheap, and with all the preorder bonuses we can get!

Price round-ups are forum discussions that let the community track prices and trade-in offers for upcoming releases. It is an opportunity to share trade-in exploits, point out online sales, reveal broken street dates and helps reduce work for staff so that we can have more frequent round-ups.

Play-Asia, Zavvi and The Hut all have it for $50 posted ($40 for PC version).

Cheapest Australian console version looks to be at Dungeon Crawl for $67.50 plus postage, although I imagine it will be much cheaper instore.

Dungeon Crawl is not really the "Australian" version, it will most likely be the American version but it works and you'll be able to get it a bit earlier

Don't forget that the PS3 version comes with a Steam code for the PC version too. Great for cross-platform co-operative play.

Huh really, does that mean if you wanted the pc version you would be better off buying the ps 3 version (and then selling/trading it in)?

EvilTom - not quite.. you need to link your PSN account to STEAM and then you get the PC version linked to your STEAM account (which you can possibly or possibly not - gift to someone else. ? personally I doubt they'd overlook this huge loophole and lose out on PC sales)

You will only be able to play it on PS3 OR PC, valve have an editable license but it won't give you 2 copies of the game to play. As for the pre-order, I traded in a heap of old games to EB, got $180 credit (which is more than I paid for them, proper bargain hunting, ha!) and they guy pre-ordered the Portal 2 Cube Edition for me to price match JB's $79 dollars, so I get a free Rubix's Cube too. Worth looking into if you want to get a Cube, was looking to buy the original Rubix Cube but the portal 2 one will be fun as well.

EB games price matches JBHIFI and gives you a free cube even though the the JBHIFI version doesn't come with a cube?
Is that just a one off, you got lucky, dumb person served you? Or will they do that for everyone?

Typically they have no rain checks for these kinds of blanket sales, which would include the likes of preorders. The only way to know though if nobody here knows the answer, is to give them a ring.
