Hi guys, I do like the new bargain chat. One thing that could help with the readability problems that some are having (if it can be implemented) is to drop the ecogamer tag when it appears in the bargain chat on the site, if it appears at the start or end of the message. Or, if the message has been entered using the generic submission, ditch the EconomicalGamer from the start and start it with the username.
(This is just for its appearance in the Bargain Chat box on the site: obviously you can't do anything about the actual tweets floating about in the twitterverse)
For example, rather than the following appearing in the Bargain Chat box:
EconomicalGamer mmmmmmm: #ecogamer @dishwasher, hell yes! Finished the Jap version and am looking forward to the uncut english version.
the message would be more readable if the following appeared, by dropping out EconomicalGamer when submitting via the generic submission and dropping #ecogamer from the start of the message:
mmmmmmm: @dishwasher, hell yes! Finished the Jap version and am looking forward to the uncut english version.
If the tag isn't at the start or end, you'd want to leave it in as it's part of the sentence, eg:
EconomicalGamer clawster: post #ecogamer twitter-chat feedback here
http://is.gd/cwd8Q But looking at the history of the tag on twitter, whenever it's at the start or end it's just there as a tag (not part of the sentence), which if fine for normal tweet usage but in the Bargain Chat box itself becomes redundant. (This won't always be the case, but it is for the majority I've looked at).
I don't know if we have the means to do it, but it could help (again, I much prefer the new twitter-based bargain chat, just thought that if you're having problems with uptake that this could help).
