So i can buy GOW3 for say $80 at bigw/target/kmart, trade it in at eb for $93 + edge bonus. Get them to price match bigw/target/kmart, use my credit to buy this price matched GOW3. Trade this back into them for another $93 + edge bonus. Rinse, repeat.

Think of me when eb games owes you $1000 credit.

You'll have to drive around to a few stores, doubt any store will let you do it more than a few times at max per day

Big W has been confirmed to be selling for $94.

In store is going to be more expensive than their website? That's usual for Game etc but haven't seen it much for the big stores...weird.

You could, however a job is an easier way to make money imo. I recommend one of those.  Tongue

Erm no not really.

Assuming the first GOW costs me $80 and i can trade in at 93 *1.15 = 106.95. Then i use the credit to purchase a GOW3 from eb price matched at $80 and i make a profit of $26.95 in what 10 minutes?

Within an hour this would equate to $161.7. Not bad for just standing there. Of course u wont get cash but just a bunch of eb credit, but that can be easily used to buy a console price matched at the lowest price and dumped on ebay.

Oh yes, I have this all worked out fellow ecogamers.

1. You won't find GOW anywhere for $80
2. Have fun running around looking for cheap GOW stock.
3. Assuming you use your credit to get another GOW at eb games, the manager will likely refuse you after a couple of times of you trading and making $26.95 and getting GOW back.
4. You won't be able to do it 6 x trades in 1 hour because say you go to 2 diff stores in the 1 hour, they will refuse you after a couple times max. Many stores now adhere to the 1 per day max.
5. Eb games have very similarly priced console only prices compared to other stores. Eb games do not match bundles.
6. Depending on what state you are in, you may not get a gift card, hence having credit scattered in many different stores.
7. Good luck and let us know how you go Smiley

er u wish u can do that, you can trade in 1 COPY of the game for credit, eb have cracked down on it, and 99% of eb won't pricematch unless the other store is within walking distance!

Wow you really haven't done this before have you? ? After your initial 10 minutes you'd then have to go to a different EB to trade in it, especially since you're using the newer Edge +15% which they seem to prefer to 'track'. ?  No multiples, 1 trade per day, etc. ? 10 minutes. ? Then once you trade it in there they're not going to sell you another copy for 'say $80' so then you transfer to yet another EB. ? 12 minutes. ? You'd have to do each step at a different EB, and I don't know how many EB's are in your area, but you'd be amazed if you could get away with doing it 6 times over 12 EB's, which would take at least most of a day of driving, parking, and walking around. ?

Nope a job's easier at this point. ? I recommend it too. ? Smiley

Hmm gotta love the Swanston Street EB (Melbourne CBD), they even price matched for Yazuka 3, even though the closest K-Mart is more than a few suburbs away

Yep I did the exact same thing for Yakuza 3, and what do you know we have very similar PS3 trophy cards. Great minds think alike eh?

GoW trade in deal isn't so great if you just buy the game out right for $89 (DSE is the cheapest), you just make a measly $17 credit which is offset by EB games RRP anyway. You can really only take advantage of this if you have trade bait on the ready, massive JB hifi ****-block trade list anyone?

Or, you could not be a jerk and let people who want to actually play the game have a chance to buy it at a reasonable price, instead of all the stock ending up in EB's 2nd hand bins...

You have to be smart about it. I traded in about 4 or 5 copies of Bioshock 2 at various EB Games across Brisbane over a period of 7 or 8 days.

Btw, any talk of GOW3's street date breaking ... we post them here, right?
