I think sending a PM to one of the Moderators/Founders (like Anthony) would be the most direct way to get a change like that approved, just ask politely and they should be able to help you out with a problem like that; they're good operators (well, they're just good people in general, but they know how to operate a site well too).

to clarify Arjay's answer, you'd need to PM Anthony specifically. staff members like myself don't have admin rights, only mod + posting rights.

Display name and username are different things. You cannot change your user name.

To add to this, funny thing I just noticed: On the forums and on the shoutbox, I'm listed as LlamaLlamaLamp. In the 'Forum Activity' on the front page, I'm listed as sPank. Interesting.

Im also having the same issue.. no biggy but it is a little weird.. Plus I have also noticed that if i post a comment on any of the articals on the frount page (or in the Bargian Chat).. they dont add to my forum count.. Makes me look very Noob . Even tho im always posting.

To explain a little more:

Economical Gamer is built on a Content Management System with many installed add-ons, including a 'bridge' to this forum. You have a display name that is what people see and a username for you to log in using. You can only change your display name. Unfortunately not all the add-ons give me the option to select the display name and some of them simply use the username instead! Its confusing but there is nothing I can do about it, short of coding everything myself.

Additionally, when the site first launched I used the CMS as the master for account operations. It allowed for duplicate display names. The forum software doesnt like this however, it requires unique display names. Upon discovering this I swapped account operations to the forum but by then it was already too late. Loads of users already shared the same display name and there can be a lot of confusion, especially with private messages, because of this blunder.
