Tell 'em They're Dreamin' is a weekly feature designed for all those moments when you've wondered and had to ask yourself if a store was dreaming when they priced a particular item or bundle. It is an opportunity to tell the world about the bad deals and ridiculous prices you've seen and have some laughs over them. Drop by the forum discussion to participate and link to any photos if you have them.

It's been a while since we had this feature. I hope we get some good ones.

Haha good call!

Pretty much everywhere has reduced them to $399, including Gran Turismo free AND you get an additional 3 free games if you log into your PSN account on an older PSP as well.

That's a decent deal now. Just a shame the game prices on the PS Store are more expensive than buying the game on UMD. I would have thought they'd be at least 33% cheaper due to the lack of manufacturing costs of UMD, case and manual AND the lack of a middleman (game store) also taking some profit.

I saw quite a few of the following at Cash Converters for $20:
+ Sega Superstars\Arcade Collection Bundle
+ Arcade Collection
+ Project Gotham Racing 3

I did see some shockers at JB, alas I can't recall any...

Oh! New copies of FEAR Files for $79... Youch...

Actually they aren't THAT pricy if you make a US account (especially on rare ones).  Disgaea for $15 springs to mind.  Cheesy
Still, why not get a 2k/3k, as they are cheaper and the 2k supports homebrew (<3 the GBA emulator)

At Knox Dick Smith Powerhouse, its their '50% off all games sale' and Virtua Fighter 5 is at $90, and that is their 'clearance' price..

JB Hi-Fi are selling Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time for $59! Its been out for more than 3 years now! The new one is coming out soon, c'mon JB... I mean who would pay that? No doubt you would find that elsewhere for maybe $30 and under.

You'll also find EB trying to sell every single game at full price (RRP) even though most of them will have already been out for years now, Twilight Princess for example, $99.95.

Welp, lots of weird prices at my Gametraders. The worst thing I've ever seen would have to be Advance Wars 1 for GBA at EB, when the GBA was being phased out for DS. Pre-owned = $60 apparently. Visited every week and I saw that box get more and more beat up over the years.

If you can still find it, EB sell Partners in Time preowned for $50 I think it is. That's what it says on their website Tongue
So either way it's still a rip off. Great game though

Check my post in the Weekly Haul - I did return it the next day for a PSP-3000! =D (was thinking of 2000 but I hate the screen-blur and washed out colours that's the same as I used to have on my original PSP 1000 years ago).

Oh yeah, and I have a US PSN account I used to also look at the US store prices which were much more reasonable...that is, until I tried to buy something and it wouldn't let me use my VISA card since it asks for an address and the one I had used to sign up for my US account was invalid for my card (which was Tecmo's US branch since I had a Ninja Gaiden Sigma box in front of me when I was signing up, haha!).

Saw an apology notice in a JB Hi Fi about this... The picture in the catalogue was meant to be the new Bowser/ Mario DS game coming soon for $59, not Mario & Luigi Partners in Time

Damn.  A new copy of Partners in time is pretty rare.  Fake ones often go for $30+ on eBay.

Ducked into JB on the way home.

Dig the way that despite the fact the GOTY drops in 3 days they are still asking $99 for vanilla Fallout 3. And of course there is zero in-store signage about the new edition.

Wonder what they'll charge for the vanilla come Thursday?
