You can delude yourself all you like, but the real cost of your PS3 was $150 + $230 (trade value of games you owned) + the trade in value of (Condemned 2 + Guitar Hero 2 + Red Faction + Supreme Commander + Kane and Lynch ($20 EB) + Quake Wars).

Unethical, nah, it's their fault for having these deals and matching them.  Also you could of got $50 more dollars and avoided 20 questions if you used your EDGE card and traded them into EB instead ($104.50).  Also you could buy the game back from EB and get more credit in the future that way.

I did 2 transactions in the correct period from the opening offer, that were over $50 from deal extreme, but am skeptical if paypal will pay up.  Just went to that link and it's all been changed now. http://www.paypal-offers.com.au/shopoverseas/
Conditions have now been altered - it's $100 now, and the period has changed.

   1. Click on any of the online retailers above
   2. Pick the items you like with a total purchase value over $100 in one transaction
   3. Checkout and pay by PayPal
   4. Sit back, relax and wait for your orders to be delivered
+ get $20 cash back into your PayPal account by 04-Dec-2009*

* The Offer begins on November 04, 2009 at 12:00:01am AEST and ends on November 15, 2009 at 11:59:59pm AEST (the "Promotion Period").

I'd be very surprised if Turok on PS3 was not $10.  That's the price I got it for in a Sydney store.  Did you scan it?

On DealExtreme when I am ready to pay I click the Express Checkout Paypal option (choice 1) and it then takes you to a log in to paypal page, where I enter my paypal email and pwd.  This is the log on section they are referring to, so maybe the other way is an automatic deduction from your paypal account...not sure.

I don't think the LE version is worth the extra $14 (target v JB).  I have it pre-ordered, but I'm going to change to std when I pick it up, and price match target at JB.

There was a guy on whirlpool who did the same thing with EB.  Ended up with $7000 in profit ($ and credit).  Funny thing was he was banned eventually from EB for doing it.  At least he understood why he was banned and didn't have a whinge about it.  Smart guy though, must of been a ton of transactions to get that much in actual profit.

Guys, as a user of this system for years, I suggest you don't return them to JB.  Matching the deal at EB and then returning the game to a different EB under the full price receipt for store credit is the only way to ensure that the loop hole doesn't get closed.
It will also ensure that JB doesn't close down these offers as they never see the deals at EB.  If they see what people are doing through their computer system they will stop offering the deals.  Matching it at EB is a win win situation, 1. the deals keep going, 2. We rip EB off, which they have been doing to mum/dads for years.
Personally I'm off trading at the moment, and probably won't do it for a while, but just looking out for ya all Smiley

Not game releated, but picked up about 25 copies of Planet Earth HD DVD for $20 at JB and Borders.  Sold for $60 each on Ebay, made over $1000, which paid for all the other HD's I purchased during the sales.
As for games, lots of $5 360 games during DSE's sale, Prey, Moto GP06, Star Wars Lego, Splinter Cell, Dead Rising, all helped with trades.
