Discussion Categories / Gaming / Does EB still have its 7-day return policy?

Hi guys,
Just wondering if EB still has its 7-day return policy.
I just bought a retro PC title today, it was on sale, and went home to install and play it. However, turns out it will not run on my PC (might be a problem with my OS or another underlying issue). It doesn't require a CD-key and doesn't have online play - and the item is in perfect condition, like when it was purchased.
Will EB honour a 7-day satisfaction guarantee return policy with a refund (or at least store credit)?
I just feel cheated of $20 on a game I can't play. Thanks, any answers/updates on their policy would be appreciated.

Haha I have been saying this for about a year now...
PreOrders = CDWOW SUCKS A*S Instock = CDWOW Is number 1!
(Note that either way you have to realise its coming from the europe so it take Min of a week to get here)
Yeah if your title is IN STOCK, then CDWOW is pretty amazing.

Hi all, My friend had a spare key and got me hooked up for SC2 beta, then I found that I have 5 friends who are also playing it. Wondering if any other EcoGamers are on SC2 beta - we can do some team games if you're interested.

Wondering if any other Brisbane Ecogamers have heard of The Mana Bar
"Yug" from AustralianGamers is one of the co-owners/operators of The Mana Bar, which is a dedicated video-gaming bar with PS3s, Xbox 360s and Wii's hooked up. Free entry, free to play.
I'm most definitely going to go check it out when it's open, sounds like a great place to network with others in the Brisbane gaming scene.
How about you? What do you think of the whole Mana Bar idea?

I'm getting login issue. It says "Invalid Token" on a blank white page after I try to login. It will keep me logged in for one session but won't save my details.

Discussion Categories / Non-Gaming / What games would you give/like to receive for Christmas? Help me out here

Before all the Christmas catalogues start coming through, I just want an idea of what games you think are the "coolest thing" for Christmas - maybe new releases before the end of the year, or some recent big release that were too expensive on release day? What about a preorder for 2010 games, like BioShock 2, Mass Effect 2... ? List them here! *edit: This is actually to get some ideas for the Christmas edition of EcoGamer's weekly column on Games.on.net - so your replies would be greatly appreciated

My take on this issue... first of all, congratulations to you for truly thinking over this and executing it (albeit with obstacles which were not in your control). If you ended up getting a bargain and a significantly lower price than buying it straight out, then I think you've won and used the system to your advantage. "Ethical"... ethics is very subjective. Do you think what you've done is 'ethical' in your own eye? The fact that you came to ask others whether it was ethical or not gives me the vibe that somewhere, deep down inside of you, you are second-guessing your actions... Don't feel bad, you beat the system. Games/consoles are way overpriced in Australia anyway.
