Title: Bioshock 2 EB Trade back deal Post by: gammafish1 on February 05, 2010, 07:24:29 PM Picked up a flyer today. Same deal as Mass Effect 2.
http://i45.tinypic.com/2rrpg6e.jpg (http://i45.tinypic.com/2rrpg6e.jpg) Anyone reckon they can finish it in 6 days? Cheers. Title: Re: Bioshock 2 EB Trade back deal Post by: xcess on February 05, 2010, 07:50:42 PM Not many games now require 6 days to finish if you game a lot, personally I can't but my friend usually finish games in 2 or 3 days if he really likes it
Title: Re: Bioshock 2 EB Trade back deal Post by: Chriis on February 05, 2010, 07:59:52 PM Ahh, so tempting to go with all the trade bait etc. but then I'll end up with EB credit and my store probably won't let me trade Bioshock 2 in, let alone pricematch items instore with the credit, so a no-no for me until I can find another store nearby to go to.
Edit: Put this up on the frontpage too. Thanks for the submission gammafish:) Title: Re: Bioshock 2 EB Trade back deal Post by: CaptainOrgazmo on February 05, 2010, 08:54:48 PM Freaking sweet deal, though I hope people won't go and abuse it.

Edit: Put this up on the frontpage too. Thanks for the submission gammafish:) it always sucks to hear of stores not allowing you to do the things that they advertise (especially if it's printed on the back of their receipts). What's worse is that for every time you hear of a person being refused trading a game as a one off thing; you hear of some greedy sod succesfully trading in a dozen copies somewhere.... such is life I guess. Title: Re: Bioshock 2 EB Trade back deal Post by: ArjaytheGuy on February 05, 2010, 09:11:05 PM hands up who else is going to order a copy of the Rapture edition from JB to score themselves a copy of the shirt, keep the art book and trade the game in (to pay off the collector's edition) ;P
I'm giving it some serious thought.... maybe try and get a copy from game to get a little sister to pair up with my big daddy figure? Title: Re: Bioshock 2 EB Trade back deal Post by: Crispix on February 07, 2010, 09:08:59 PM Nice, gives me a chance to get rid of my trade bait to turn in to store credit.
Title: Re: Bioshock 2 EB Trade back deal Post by: gizmomelb on February 07, 2010, 10:06:55 PM the three shirts I've had as games bonuses from JB have all been absolute sh!te quality. ? wash them and the hems start to turn. ? really poor quality material and manufacture, so I don't bother if the bonus is just a shirt any more.
Title: Re: Bioshock 2 EB Trade back deal Post by: mmmmmmm on February 07, 2010, 11:01:12 PM ^Shirts look butt ugly anyway, would rather hang myself than be seen in those.
Title: Re: Bioshock 2 EB Trade back deal Post by: Turd on February 09, 2010, 09:54:27 AM Woot I already have $293.50 of store credit from EB Games this will build it up lol!
Title: Re: Bioshock 2 EB Trade back deal Post by: Scaven on February 10, 2010, 06:55:19 AM Do you have to have bought the game from JB Hifi originally to get the trade back deal prices?
Title: Re: Bioshock 2 EB Trade back deal Post by: xcess on February 10, 2010, 09:10:05 AM no you don't have to as the trade back deal is an EB one
Title: Re: Bioshock 2 EB Trade back deal Post by: Scaven on February 10, 2010, 10:53:57 AM Doh, I meant EB.
Title: Re: Bioshock 2 EB Trade back deal Post by: Matto on February 10, 2010, 12:15:25 PM JB in ENEX100 Perth were nice enough to give me the T-Shirt for free with standard edition - even got it in medium
Title: Re: Bioshock 2 EB Trade back deal Post by: rattack on February 11, 2010, 06:27:46 PM in what form do EB give store credit? gift card? or do you need to use it right away?
Title: Re: Bioshock 2 EB Trade back deal Post by: skeeo on February 11, 2010, 07:11:56 PM depends on what state you are in
Title: Re: Bioshock 2 EB Trade back deal Post by: HAVOCau on February 12, 2010, 12:36:24 PM If i trade back in on monday the 15th would I get 85?
Title: Re: Bioshock 2 EB Trade back deal Post by: xcess on February 13, 2010, 11:43:03 AM In NSW you only get get store credit and you'll have to put it on a preorder or buy something right there on the spot with it other states I believe you can get it put on gift cards or cash but 20% less
Also you can get $85 cos I did a similar thing with Mass effect 2 did it literally 1 min before the store closed on that last day and was able to get $85+edge Title: Re: Bioshock 2 EB Trade back deal Post by: joshuaali on February 13, 2010, 01:41:13 PM Anybody want to try buying it from Kmart for $78 and trading it back in before Monday for $85? :)
Title: Re: Bioshock 2 EB Trade back deal Post by: xcess on February 13, 2010, 02:17:43 PM it's not $78 anymore at Kmart but you could do it, but not really worth it imo when everything is like $20 more at EB
Title: Re: Bioshock 2 EB Trade back deal Post by: pitoui on February 13, 2010, 04:01:22 PM I traded one in at Hurstville Sydney and I bought a $4 PS2 game with the store cred. Apparently my other $81 is still in their system ready to use next time.

But it hasn't even been a week!Anyway, I'll probably just take my copy to GAME (http://www.game.com.au/UserFiles/Image/HowToTrade%282%29.png) and ask them to 'price match' EB's trade-in deal (http://www.ebgames.com.au/images/trade/tradeback_bioshock2.jpg). Not only will GAME beat EB's deal, but their prices aren't "$20 more" :D Title: Re: Bioshock 2 EB Trade back deal Post by: Good Evening on February 13, 2010, 10:23:15 PM Has anyone traded in a high value game then purchased the same game price matched in the same transaction?
I did once though it was a 360 for a PS3 swap, I still gained around $15 credit. Wonder what would happen if you get the exact same game. Title: Re: Bioshock 2 EB Trade back deal Post by: Klevster on February 14, 2010, 08:29:48 AM Eww, would definitely not recommend doing so in the same transaction... :S
Title: Re: Bioshock 2 EB Trade back deal Post by: Brad on February 14, 2010, 02:05:54 PM Good luck doing that - i'm sure most store staff will tell you where to go.
Title: Re: Bioshock 2 EB Trade back deal Post by: ArjaytheGuy on February 14, 2010, 09:59:10 PM ^Shirts look butt ugly anyway, would rather hang myself than be seen in those. I was going to disagree with you on that point until I saw the actual shirt in store during the week. You're right, they are a really ugly looking thing (the ones that had been advertised on the website (and on posters in store) looked pretty nice I thought, dark bluey-green shirt with a nice image of the Big Daddy reaching out with a little sister on the shoulder, instead the actual shirts are on basic black with a rather boring image of the Big Daddy just standing there with the little sister standing behind it. as for the quality of the promo shirts from JB; I've been quite happy so far. Got the Borderlands shirt, the Brutal Legend shirt (pretty amusing with the faux "World Tour" listing of areas on the back, and very happy with the Assassin's Creed II Hoody-shirt thing (and quite peeved with the number of people who scalped off multiple shirts on eBay for $50 a pop.... why do I bother working?). Title: Re: Bioshock 2 EB Trade back deal Post by: ArjaytheGuy on February 14, 2010, 10:03:50 PM Good luck doing that - i'm sure most store staff will tell you where to go. and rightly so. although; I can see the merit in wanting to try ans swap 1-for-1 from one system to another (eg. if you bought a PS3 version for someone but they want it on the xbox instead, or one of the machines isn't working properly at the minute or whatever). Especially if you were to be trading in an unused (or sealed) copy. Wasn't there someone on these forums who explained that with EB's 7 day returns policy even if a game that was returned had been used they could still sell it as "new" rather than "pre-owned" (slightly off topic; but if that's doable I would like to think that returning a 360 version of someone could allow you to exchange it for a PS3 version if they both have the same sale price). Title: Re: Bioshock 2 EB Trade back deal Post by: Aquil0 on February 15, 2010, 08:22:06 AM I got eb to price match for $78, I then finished it and sold it back to them for $93.50 (including EDGE) ;)
THEN I got them to Price match BIGW again for MAG + PS3 Headset of $98.. Dont like MAG so im going to trade it tomorrow (In short I think I Just got the PS3 Headset for FREE!) It can be done!.. I did it with COD MW2 I swaped a Sealed xbox copy for the PS3 one. They traded the XBOX copy in for $93.50 then they price matched the PS3 version for $78 (then gave me $15 credit).. This was the same transaction.. Then when i told them its crazy an all i actually wanted was a straight swap they said it was store poicy. (I wasnt complaining) |
