Assassin's Creed 2 is due for release this Thursday, 19th November. Want to know where to find it for cheap?

Price round-ups are forum discussions that let the community track prices and trade in offers for upcoming releases. It is an opportunity to share trade in exploits, point out online sales, reveal broken street dates and helps reduce work for staff so that we can have more frequent round-ups.

Posts appear above this main post because they were merged into this topic.  ;)

EB Games has announced that they will be holding midnight launches on Wednesday night at selected stores. Those of you who have preordered should have receive a text message about it.

Why are there no reviews out there yet (bar 'offical magazines' which mean nothing).

That's always a concern.

Embargo apparently lifts at Nov 17, 9am PST.  http://au.ps3.ign.com/articles/104/1045917p1.html

I put that at 3:30am Wednesday morning Adelaide time - http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converted.html?month=11&day=17&year=2009&hour=9&min=0&sec=0&p1=256&p2=5

Nice find! Curse you for making me visit IGN though.

I don't care for when the embargo ends that close to a release date. I get a bad feeling about it.

Penny Arcade have claimed to play through it, but haven't really revealed a lot.
http://www.penny-arcade.com/2009/11/16/neer-twain-shall-meet/

Gamespot has the first 40 minutes of gameplay (probably a lot of spoilers on this one).
http://au.gamespot.com/shows/today-on-the-spot/?event=now_playing_assassin039s_creed_ii20091113

NeoGAFfers already have the game and are providing comments. Probably spoilers in there, most I've seen have been marked:

You can get the std edition for $67.99 at fishponds.com.au with free shipping. Use the code "2FRIEND" as you check out. Don't know on the expire date on it though.

EDIT: Looks like they either had a short sale for the game or they F'ed up on the numbers. Its now $89 (was $77.99 + -$10 discount code) Sweet, got's the game cheap! ;) I did post it on the front page when it was $67.99 but I guess no one noticed....

Black Edition for the PS3 is costing me $90, thanks to $30 + $60 (3 x $20 trade baits), which isnt too bad... Just gotta hope the game is worth it...

I ordered Uncharted 2 from Fishpond, based on the price being listed here,
Two weeks after the release date when the game had not shown up, i emailed them about it
They replied that they would send a 2nd copy right away, which i thought was good, although a little worrying
that copy took a further week to arrive! (plus it was not a sealed game and had some strange stickers over the MA 15+ Aussie rating !? )

I've ordered books from Fishpond before, with similar extended shipping times, funny as i live very close to their Alexandria depot,
anyways i wont be ordering games from them again based on that experience, although like to hear how you guys fare with AC2?

I'm so keen for this game that i'll be going to a store for a change, to make sure i get it day one.
Anyone know of a site that reports broken street dates?  ;D

Anyone found some good quality images of the Figure?  More interested in the white one, the long robes just look cooler :)  But any pics would be good.  If its a high quality item I may actually shell out. If not, I'll simply import like I always do.  It's less than $60 from both DVD.co.uk and 365games.co.uk.

EB Games just sent out an email regarding midnight launches.

'Official Launches' are at Indooroopilly, Liverpool + Knox. 250 others are open at midnight though.

What's the difference between official/unofficial midnight launches?

There are usually prizes, bonuses and longer queues at the official launches.  The normal stores just have the game.

Anyone know what price GAME are selling the Standard and the White Edition for today?  They usually lower their prices to be more inline with everyone else for the first week or so don't they?

GAME Plenty Valley refused to price match the JB HiFi price of $78.  Even though the JB HiFi store is literally next door.  They said they will only price match if you have a catalogue showing that price even though I've price matched at that store a number of times without a catalogue, including Modern Warefare 2 less than a week ago.  Strange.

Maybe they're more strictly enforcing their policies?

ended up going to EB and JB, eb had it for $110 and JB for $78 :P (standard copy with hoodie)

I traded this in at EB for a gift card today but they had to check with head office.  There are some policy changes now and trades/gift card use will be monitored more closely.

Bit late of a reply, but each store only got about 3 copies, so it wasn't going to last long.
