Today marks the third time I've used this cheesy balloon image, which means that Economical Gamer is now celebrating it's fourth Birthday!

If you had dropped by during the weekend you may or may not have noticed areas of the site go down briefly one at a time. I've been working tirelessly over the last three days to upgrade the many different components that make up the site.

I normally thoroughly test the newer versions of these applications prior to putting them onto our server and this time I thought I had, although late last night (right at the end of the updates) I noticed the login facility across the site and forum acting strangely. Namely having to log in twice, or staying logged in after logging out.

I've literally just noticed it and now must head off to work (sigh). Any feedback as to your login/log out experiences and forum intergration with the main site would be appreciated. I don't want anyone who uses a public computer to remain logged in after logging out so please to be mindful until I have some time to investigate it.

In lighter news, there is one final update yet to go live. Its been nearly two years so I think its time for a new design, don't you think? You're all going to have to wait until the site's anniversary to see that one.

UPDATE: It appears that if you log in via the forum, logging out via the site will not log you out in the forum as well. If you are using a public machine use the site login. It might not hurt to double check you are logged out by restarting the browser either.

I don't know when I'll get time to fix this but I'll keep everyone posted.

With the success of last months Community Night, we at EcoGamer have decided to make it a monthly feature of the site.

It's going to be the first Friday Night of every month, with a different game for each month! Don't worry, they'll be fairly common games and we'll give you an article on cheapest prices around and plenty of time to get it.
